Refund and Cancellation Policy
Refunds, deposits, rescheduling, and no-shows for offline custody reconciliation engagements.
This policy applies to professional engagements described on this site (custody reconciliation, variance investigation, vault observation, attestation review). The site does not sell downloadable products or physical goods.
Eligibility
Refunds apply to fees paid to Dev Environment Digital for booked engagements, subject to the conditions below. Informational browsing of the website involves no payment.
Timeframe to request
Cancel or request a refund in writing to contact@dev-environment.digital as soon as you know the engagement cannot proceed. Date stamps on email determine timing.
Full refund
- If we cancel an engagement for desk-side reasons before work starts, fees paid are refunded in full.
- If you cancel more than 10 business days before the agreed start date and no substantive work has begun, the booking deposit is refunded in full.
Partial refund
- Cancellation between 5 and 10 business days before start: 50% of the deposit is retained for reserved capacity; the remainder is refunded.
- If work has started (evidence intake or matching pass begun) and you cancel, fees for work completed are due; unused prepaid amounts may be refunded after an account statement.
Non-refundable items
- Fees for completed deliverables already issued (memorandum, observation notes, attestation review letters)
- Third-party room or courier costs incurred with your written approval
- Rush premiums once the rush window has been reserved
Process
Email contact@dev-environment.digital with the engagement reference, payment date, and reason. We confirm eligibility within five business days and state any retained amount.
Processing time and method
Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 business days where the payment provider allows. Bank transfers may take longer depending on your bank.
Cancellation and rescheduling
You may reschedule once without penalty if you give at least five business days’ notice and the new date falls within 30 days of the original. Further reschedules may require a new deposit.
Deposits
Deposits secure desk capacity for the stated window. They are applied to the final invoice unless retained under this policy.
No-shows
Failure to attend a booked vault observation without at least one business day’s notice forfeits the visit fee. Desk review engagements without delivered evidence by the agreed intake date may be closed and deposit rules applied as a cancellation.
Work already started
Once matching or document review has begun, completed hours or milestones are chargeable even if you later cancel the remainder.
Purchased materials
We do not sell materials packs. Any printing or courier arranged at your request is non-refundable once ordered.
Exceptions
Statutory rights under Hong Kong law remain unaffected. Engagement letters may set stricter notice periods for multi-week closes; where they conflict on timing, the engagement letter controls for that assignment.
